Instant Flash
By Jolyon Jenkins
This is an effect
based on the FISM flash, originally created by John
Cornelius (1985). This has long been off the market but
there are some other commercial versions of the same
effect for sale, mostly selling for about $80. You can
make it yourself for much less.
Simply when
the magician performs an effect (e.g. coin vanish, card
flourish, production), a burst of bright white light
appears from the magician's body (or anywhere else you
want). Most of the commercial versions of the effect,
including the original, are a bit cumbersome and bulky,
but I will show you how to recreate the trick in a much
more convenient form, as well as make it capable of radio
control so you can be well away from where the flash
takes place, if you wish.
Note: As with all the other items in
Magi-tronics, this is an e-Book of instructions for
building the effect, and not the actual prop itself. You
make the device following photos and instructions and get
the parts from sources suggested by the author. The purchase of any of these e-Books entitles
you to construct one item for your own personal use. If
you are interested in acquiring a manufacturing licence
please contact the author via the Magic
Nook. Copying and resale of any
e-Book is prohibited by International Copyright law.
