Divination (Verb) The action or practice of divining; the foretelling of future events or discovery of what is hidden or obscure by supernatural or magical means; soothsaying, augury, prophecy. With a and pl., an exercise of this, a prophecy, an augury.
Divine (Verb) Soothsaying, prophecy, divination.
Diviner  (Noun) 1. One who practises divination; a soothsayer, prophet, seer; a magician, sorcerer. 2. The object used in divination, usually a forked branch, metal rods, wands, etc.
Divining (verbal, noun), as divining-rod, -staff, -stick, -wand: a rod, etc., used in divination; spec. a forked stick, by means of which certain persons are reputed to have the power of tracing and indicating subterraneous supplies of water and mineral veins.
