This routine from Professor Spellbinder will teach you (and
your audience) about dowsing or "water witching." The
spectators will freely select playing cards and hide them
randomly in a deck. Then, as they imagine their cards floating in
a stream of running water, you, as the water witch, successfully
locate the cards with your trusty water witching wand.
The article explains how to make a water witching wand from a
tree branch. You will also need a deck of playing cards, regular
or Tarot. The article will teach you an unusual range force that
will convince your spectators that they have an absolutely free
choice of the card or cards selected for the demonstration. Up to
three cards can be freely chosen for the "experiment."
